This painting is about worshiping God. God first loved us and wants only our love and obedience, in exchange for life with Him for all eternity.
Romans 12:1
"Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God's mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God- this is your true and proper worship."
This was my 1st mixed media painting, other than adding a little collage to a couple of other canvas art. I decided to do this painting on a solid substrate instead of canvas and build a mixed media painting from the beginning and found that this method worked well for my messages that I like to convey. I was still able to do realistic images over the collage, which is consistent with my other art. I enjoyed the process because it was more loose and free and happy accidents were OK. I am doing more mixed media now and in the future, as it adds another level of intrigue to the work. There are many things hidden in the background to discover. The painting's cradled sides are painted metallic gold.
