Power In God's Word

     "For the word that God speaks is alive and full of power, it is sharper than any two-edged sword, penetrating to the dividing line of the breath of life and the spirit, and of joints and marrow, exposing and sifting and analyzing and judging the very thoughts and purposes of the heart."  Hebrews 4:12.

     "The Word (Christ) became flesh and tabernacle among us; and we saw his glory as an only begotten son receives from his Father full of grace."  Hebrews 1:14.

     These scriptures tell us of the power of God and that His son who became flesh to dwell among us, is the word of God. When we speak the word of God, that power is enacted in our lives when we receive it into our hearts and choose to walk with Him.

     This painting was inspired by a true life testimony shared by Joyce Meyer, about an unsaved man who attended one of her conferences with his wife, in honor of her birthday.  When Joyce came to the podium and opened the Bible to teach, the man saw large angels on each side of her with swords raised. I used a little creative license in adding flames to the swords and substituting a man for Joyce. He received Jesus that day. God got his attention.
